Pope Leo XIV rebuked President Trump's threat to wipe out the entirety of Iran's civilization, calling the remarks "truly unacceptable."

"There are certainly issues of international law here, but much more-a moral issue for the good of the entire people," he said outside his country home in Castel Gandolfo, south of Rome. He urged leaders to find peaceful solutions to the conflict and to remember how the violence would impact vulnerable populations.
