Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh opened his press conference by reaffirming the Fed's commitment to its 2% year-over-year inflation target.

The committee is resolute on delivering price stability, Warsh said. Declining to provide forward guidance is "prudent" in these uncertain times, he said. He told reporters that "there is no soft inflation target," nor is there any other implicit target: just the 2% target. On the broader picture, Warsh said that "the economy is showing impressive resilience" and even with recent shocks, trends are positive.
