Brazil central bank cuts rates by 25 bps at fourth straight meeting - Reuters

- Brazil's central bank on Wednesday cut interest rates by 25 basis points at a fourth straight policy meeting and left the door open for more cuts, extending its easing cycle as recent data pointed to slower inflation and a cooling economy.

The bank's rate-setting committee, called Copom, unanimously cut the benchmark Selic rate to 14.00%, the lowest level since March 2025. The decision was in line with the expectations of 38 of 42 analysts polled by Reuters, with the rest forecasting stable rates.
