Netanyahu says he has agreed to a 10-day ceasefire to give peace with Lebanon a chance - Reuters

- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday he has agreed to a temporary 10-day ceasefire in Lebanon to give time to forge U.S. President Donald Trump's initiative for a peace deal between Israel and Lebanon.

In a video statement, Netanyahu said a peace deal must include the dismantling of Iran-backed Hezbollah militants. He added that Israeli forces will remain in southern Lebanon.

Netanyahu also said that Trump assured him that he is determined to continue the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and dismantle Iran's nuclear capabilities.
